How to place bids (frequently asked questions)

Please use the following instructions for bidding on the website:

Step #1

Registration with our website is simple. Please click HERE to view our registration terms and continue to our new bidder registration form. Make sure to fill out all required fields. Once you register you will receive your bidder number via an automatically generated email to your email address on file. Using this bidder number and the password you created during registration allows you to place bids on any of the current auctions on our website.

Step #2

Please go to our homepage and you will see all of our current auctions listed. Look for the "enter auction" button or you can click on the name of the auction to enter the sale.

After entering the auction the page will look like the image below. Red arrows with tips have been added to show you important information.

Step #3

You have registerd and received an email from RCI with your new bidder number. Now it's time to enter the auction, submit, and review your bids!

There are 2 spaces to put your bids - "your bid" and "your maximum". The "your bid" field is where you must enter the next bid required. (see above picture)

For example: If an item is currently bid to $6 and the next bid required shows $7 you must put $7 as "your bid". The dollar sign is not necessary - just enter "7" or "7.00" without parenthesis.

The "your maximum" feature is for max-bids and is optional. A max bid is useful when you won't be able to watch the auction while it's ending. This will allow you to put the maximum dollar amount you are willing to spend and the system will automatically increase your bid in increments, up to your max bid.

For example: If an item is currently bid to $100 and you are willing to spend $2,000 you can put the next bid required amount in and then also put "2,000" in the "your maximum" text box. If another bidder bids the item up to $1,200 you will win the item for $1,200. A bidder would have to bid $2,100 to out bid you.

You've put your bids in and now you must log-in and submit your bids. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the following image:

Enter your bidder number and password and then hit the "Submit Bids" button. You will then be taken to a screen where you must checkmark a box stating you agree to the terms and details of this sale. After agreeing you will then confirm your bids and hit the submit button again. The next screen will then show you if your bids have been accepted or denied and if you are now the high bidder or if you've been outbid. If you've been outbid it means another bidder has used the Max-bids feature.

Step #4

Auctions usually end 3 items per minute and there is also an auto-extend feature. This means that if a bid is placed within the last 3 minutes that item will be auto-extended to allow time for bidders to put bids in. When the auction is ending it is wise to use the refresh button at least 1x per minute. This will ensure you know if you get outbid on an item or not.

Shortly after the last item in the auction is completed you will get an automatically generated email from our server with your invoice. This invoice will give you details on the items you have purchased along with important information regarding the pickup time and location. If you have any questions you can reply to this email or you can call the phone number of the seller that will be listed in your invoice.
